JULIA BROWN
Owner/Artistic Director As the Owner & Artistic Director of Express Yourself Performing Arts, Julia is looking forward to sharing her passion for acting, singing & dancing with children, teens and adults in the Orillia area. Julia teaches students of all ages and currently has students in Penetanguishene, Barrie and Orillia, ON. She has both Royal Conservatory and music theatre training, which allows her to accommodate each individual student's goals. Lesson costs : $30/45 minutes $40/1.15 hours *Costs fluctuate based on student's specific needs, age, etc. Read more about Julia here: Growing up in Peterborough, Julia's journey into the world of drama & musical theatre began at the age of four when she starred in a local community theatre production. Throughout her childhood, Julia appeared in many shows including Meet Me In St. Louis, The Wizard Of Oz and The King & I. As a teen, she attended the Integrated Arts High School in Peterborough (where she starred as the Scarecrow in a production of The Wiz). Moving to Toronto, Julia continued her studies in acting, singing & dancing and graduated as a Triple Threat from the Randolph Academy For The Performing Arts. Since then, Julia has appeared in a variety of Toronto productions including CATS and Children Of Eden Looking for ways to educate and inspire up-and-coming actors, Julia opened performing arts schools in the GTA and Peterborough area where her excitement and passion for singing, acting and dancing has helped hundreds of children develop their confidence through the arts over the last six years. Continuing to appear onstage, Julia had lead roles in productions with The Peterborough Theatre Guild under the direction of Bea Quarrie and Judi Wilson. Married in 2015, Julia has relocated to the Orillia area where the journey continues. Immersing herself back into the theatre scene as quickly as possible, Julia was excited to have been welcomed as a featured performer in the Cookstown Theatre production for Fall 2016 (50: Our Golden Celebration). She recently finished musically directing a very successful run of Aladdin Jr. for Kempenfelt Community Players in Barrie, ON. While being on the stage will always be a passion, Julia has discovered that her true calling is in sharing the world of performing with the next generation of actors, singers and dancers and watch them grow in confidence. |
Located in the Orillia, Midland and Barrie area, we offer classes in the performing arts. This includes drama (acting), music (vocal / singing) and dance. Putting all three forms of artistic expression together, our students (ages 4-16) experience the joy of musical theatre. Our program is open to kids of all experience and skill levels and our program is designed in a way that builds confidence for each individual student. Our students also develop excellent communication and team building skills, grow in self-esteem and enjoy the benefits of improved coordination and fitness levels. All of our students learn essential life skills that will stay with them throughout their life. Creative kids love our classes as we provide fun activities in the performing arts!
We offer summer camps which are an experience where lifelong friendships are formed, where learning about life and leadership skills are integral part of a fun musical theater camp experience. Campers experience a fun and exciting summer camp. Your child can fill their summer break with a fun musical theatre experience at our camps.
