How We Work...

Our program is based on fun!  We believe in a positive environment where children can explore with those incredible imaginations they have!  The children are free to express themselves and are safe to do so in our welcoming and open environment.  All of our teachers and staff have a variety of performing arts experience between them and are ready to support your child with positive encouragement.  

Keeping you up to date!

At the end of a child's year with Express Yourself, they can expect to receive a "progress report" from the Director of the school.  We feel it is important that the parents know how their child has been developing.  These reports are all positive feedback: the type you can bring back out and read to them after a rough day of regular school.

Term 1
​Fall
​Discovering & Developing Our Talents

Students will spend this term discovering and developing their talents in acting, singing & dancing while building confidence.     At the final day of the fall term, parents will be able to come participate in a morning of classes to experience what child has been up to since September..  

Term 2
Winter/Spring
Applying Our Talents & Show Term​

In this extended term, your child will have the opportunity to apply their newly learned skills from the fall term.   As we prepare for the end-of-year show, they will learn how to work as a team to present the best production possible for their audience in May (which will be friends & family).  This is an exciting and very busy term for the students as they prepare to put on a full show with lights, sound, costumes and sets.  The expectation for regular attendance is very high in this term as each actor depends on their fellow actors to work as a complete team.    The students will have a fun time while preparing to present their developing skills & talents in the end-of-year musical.   So much to be learned in this term and so much fun to be experienced!

Once having a look at the facility on the first day of school, parents are asked to come back to pick their child up at the time school is done rather than remaining in the building. We do this for the safety and security of all the children.

Experience also has shown us that creativity blooms best in a safe and comfortable environment.  We have found this difficult to create if parents are looking into the classrooms.  We appreciate your understanding and support of this concept.

​Located in the Orillia, Midland and Barrie area,  we offer classes in the performing arts. This includes drama (acting), music (vocal / singing) and dance. Putting all three forms of artistic expression together, our students (ages 4-16) experience the joy of musical theatre. Our program is open to kids of all experience and skill levels and our program is designed in a way that builds confidence for each individual student. Our students also develop excellent communication and team building skills, grow in self-esteem and enjoy the benefits of improved coordination and fitness levels. All of our students learn essential life skills that will stay with them throughout their life. Creative kids love our classes as we provide fun activities in the performing arts!       
We offer summer camps which are  an experience where lifelong friendships are formed, where learning about life and leadership skills are integral part of a fun musical theater camp experience.    Campers experience a fun and exciting summer camp.   Your child can fill their summer break with a fun musical theatre experience at our camps.
